What are the responsibilities and job description for the TITLE I TUTOR PART TIME (20 HOURS) position at Rowan-Salisbury Schools?
Purpose: To supplement reading and/or math instruction to academically at-risk students in grades K-8
Qualifications:
Ability to relate to children with special needs; ability to provide instructional activities in collaboration with teacher
Some college training preferable. Minimum education requirements are:
- 48 semester hours which include core courses with an overall 2.5 or higher GPA from an accredited institution; OR
- Associate Degree or higher with an overall 2.5 or higher GPA from an accredited institution; OR
- WorkKeys testing in Math - (min score 4); Reading - (min score 4); and Writing - (min score 3).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide supplemental instruction to academically at-risk students in grades K-8 to provide reinforcement of readingand/or math skills.
- Collaborate with classroom teacher to prepare lessons, materials, and activities that supplements classroom reading and/or math instruction for academically at-risk students.
- Adhere to the federal guidelines regarding non-instructional assignments/duties.
- Attend Title I staff meetings and professional development.
