Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office by providing administrative support, managing patient interactions, and maintaining accurate medical records. This position requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with medical terminology, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient service.

Duties

  • Manage front desk operations, including greeting patients and answering multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the clinic calendar efficiently.
  • Perform insurance verification and assist patients with understanding their coverage.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Process medical billing and coding using various EHR systems.
  • Conduct documentation reviews to ensure accuracy in patient files.
  • Assist with medical collections as needed and handle patient inquiries regarding billing.
  • Support the development of care plans in collaboration with healthcare providers.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office for various clerical tasks including typing reports and managing correspondence.
  • Provide bilingual support to enhance communication with diverse patient populations (if applicable).
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the office environment.

Experience
Candidates should possess experience in a medical office setting or related fields. Ideal qualifications include:

  • Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and medical terminology.
  • Previous roles in medical administrative support or as a medical receptionist are highly desirable.
  • Experience with health information management systems and dental terminology is a plus for those applying to dental offices.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette are essential for interacting with patients effectively.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
