Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Acute Care Physician Assistant (PA-C)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Manage critically ill patients in ICU or specialty units
2. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams
3. Provide discharge planning and follow-up care
4. Nurse Practitioner/Physician's Assistant - Critical Care Nights Only (7p-7a)
5. Provide direct patient care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
6. Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
7. Prescribe medications and treatments
8. Supervised by board certified intensivists
9. Tele-ICU support available as well
10. Implement infection control measures and maintain a clean and safe environment
11. Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment plans, and self-care techniques

Experience:

1. ICU experience and procedures as APP or RN preferred but not mandatory

Requirements:

1. - Valid NP/PA license in NC
2. - BLS certification required; ACLS certification required
3. - Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
4. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
