Job Title: PT TAX COLLECTION ASSISTANT (Reporting) Job #1063-1 Application Dates: Open Until Filled Salary Range/Pay Rate: $16.11 - $17.72 per hour.
The County is currently accepting applications for the position of PT Tax Collection Assistant—Reporting. To work closely with software vendors, Tax Collector and Support Specialist to gather, analyze and arrange data into various reports needed and ensure the accuracy of these reports: including, but not limited to; preparing standard and specialized financial statements and reports from books and records; approximately 19 hours per week not to exceed 999 hours in a calendar year; and must be flexible with hours.
Requires considerable knowledge and understanding of the North Carolina Machinery Act, North Carolina General Statutes and laws related to the collection and reporting of current and delinquent taxes; extensive knowledge of established governmental and departmental bookkeeping practices and procedures; and ability to understand and apply laws, regulations, and policies to the maintenance of financial records.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Requires high school diploma and one year of general clerical and money handling experience, preferably supplemented by some college level courses; and good customer service skills with the ability to successfully communicate with the general public.
