Job Title: Library Support Specialist Job #1064-1 Application Dates: Open Until Filled Salary Range/Pay Rate: $52,000 to $57,200 (commensurate with experience) Excellent benefits package available.
The County is currently accepting applications for the position of Library Support Specialist. This position is based out of RPL Headquarters (Salisbury). Duties require regular travel to RPL East (Rockwell), RPL South (China Grove) and RPL East (Cleveland).This position is responsible for highly technical work, coordination and maintenance of library information systems and networks, and working with technology vendors. This position troubleshoots major problems with staff and public hardware, software, peripherals, OPAC stations, kiosks, copiers, printers, and TLC integrated operating systems. Serves as the liaison between the library and Rowan County IT. Work is performed onsite and independently under the direction of the Technical Services Supervisor and Branch Operations Manager. Position responsibilities include customer service desk work and related duties as assigned; evening and weekend work required. Must be positive, customer-driven, solution-focused, and team centered.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Requires considerable knowledge of equipment, software, and technology utilized in library operations; considerable knowledge of computer operations, peripheral equipment, computer terminology, and configuration; knowledge of library practices, procedures, and resources; and ability to analyze problems with data equipment and determine the appropriate course of action to correct them.
Minimum requirements include Bachelor’s degree in library, information, or computer science, computer information systems or related field and three years of experience in library technology work or equivalent combination of education and experience. All degrees/coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution. Valid driver’s license required.
