Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator I Job #1062 Application Dates: Closes November 16, 2025 Salary Range/Pay Rate: $44,900 - $49,300 (commensurate with experience) and excellent benefits package available.
The County is currently accepting applications for the position of Heavy Equipment Operator I. This position operates heavy equipment including a bulldozer, front-end loader, and compactor; operates self-loading scrapper, digs trenches, and hauls dirt for covering solid waste at the County’s sanitary landfill; provides first line maintenance to equipment including fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids and lubrication; and cleans equipment.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Requires a thorough knowledge of the hazards and applicable safety rules of equipment operated; ability to detect needed repairs or maintenance work on heavy equipment and take necessary action; and the ability to understand and carry out oral instructions and to work independently in performance of regular job duties.
Requires high school diploma, one year of experience in the operation of moderately complex vehicular construction or maintenance equipment, and a valid driver’s license.
