The County is currently accepting applications for the position of CPS Social Work Supervisor III (Assessment). This position supervises social workers in positions of Child Protective Services Assessments and/or In Home Family Services. This position provides training and support for assigned social workers, placing a high priority on the initial and ongoing assessment of safety and risk; coordinating work flow in collaboration with other supervisors and managers; supervising assigned social workers through case review and consultation which requires knowledge of trauma and its impact on families and systems, as well as the impact of secondary traumatic stress on employees; evaluates job performance of staff through periodic conferences, data analysis, and annual reviews.
Requires extensive knowledge of federal, state, and county laws, regulations, guidelines and procedures involving activities supervised; considerable knowledge of social work principles, techniques and practices and their application to specific casework and community problems; considerable knowledge of the laws, regulations, and policies which govern social work programs; and the ability to supervise and train social workers in the performance of job responsibilities.
Minimum qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Social Work and two years of social work or counseling experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and three years of social work or counseling experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree/Coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution. A valid driver’s license is required. If degree is not in Social Work, please submit a copy of college transcript with application. Experience in child protective services supervision is preferred. A valid driver’s license is required.
Starting Salary $73,100 - $80,400 (commensurate with experience) and excellent benefits package available.
