Role Description The Human Resources Generalist is a full-time, on-site role based in Cabarrus County in NC. This position supports day-to-day HR operations, including administering HR policies, assisting with recruitment and onboarding, and maintaining accurate employee records. The Human Resources Generalist will coordinate employee benefits and leave administration, respond to employee inquiries, and support compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. The role also assists in implementing HR initiatives, supporting performance management processes, and helping to promote an inclusive, respectful workplace culture. Collaboration with supervisors, staff, and other departments is essential to provide consistent, service-oriented HR support.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Human Resources (HR) principles and practices, with experience supporting general HR functions.
- Skills in HR Management, including handling day-to-day employee relations matters and supporting recruitment and onboarding activities.
- Knowledge of HR Policies and regulatory requirements, with the ability to interpret and apply institutional and legal guidelines accurately.
- Experience with Employee Benefits and Benefits Administration, including enrollment, changes, and employee education.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
- Proficiency with HRIS and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office or similar tools) and comfort working with data and reports.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of employees and stakeholders, demonstrating inclusiveness and respect.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, and prior HR experience in higher education or the public sector.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
