Routh Sales and Rentals is seeking a skilled Equipment Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of construction and outdoor power equipment. This role is critical to keeping our rental fleet and customer equipment safe, reliable, and ready to perform.
What You’ll Do
As an Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for servicing both company-owned and customer equipment, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and turnaround time.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair tractors, mowers, skid steers, excavators, and other construction and outdoor power equipment
- Perform routine maintenance to keep the rental fleet in ready-to-rent condition
- Inspect returned rental equipment, document condition, and complete required repairs prior to re-rental
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and fuel system issues efficiently
- Assemble and set up new equipment for sales inventory and customer delivery
- Complete accurate repair tickets, maintenance logs, and warranty documentation
- Maintain shop tools, service vehicles, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
- Communicate equipment status and repair timelines with rental and sales teams
- Provide customers with guidance on safe operation and proper equipment care when needed
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Ensure equipment meets safety standards before signing off on work orders
- Report unsafe conditions or accidents immediately to management
Coordination & Communication
- Clearly communicate equipment issues with customers and the service advisor
- Check the status of required parts daily to avoid repair delays
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Stay current on equipment specifications, service bulletins, and manufacturer updates
- Work with brands such as Bobcat, Kioti, Segway, Stihl, Hustler, and Spartan
- Assist with other dealership tasks as needed to support team success

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
