Logistics Coordinator Driver Operations

Pay: $20–$25 per hour, based on experience

Position Overview

Route Ready Workforce is seeking a highly organized, proactive Logistics Coordinator – Driver Operations to support our growing portfolio of last-mile delivery programs.

This is a fast-paced, driver-focused operations role. Approximately 80% of the position will center around driver recruiting coordination, onboarding, deployment, daily communication, route coverage, and driver support.

The ideal candidate is someone who can manage multiple moving parts at once, communicate confidently with drivers, stay ahead of problems, and make sure the right people are in the right place at the right time.

This is not a traditional administrative assistant position. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of day-to-day driver coordination and help keep multiple delivery programs organized and moving.

What You'll DoDriver Coordination & Deployment

• Maintain daily visibility of available, active, onboarding, and backup drivers.
• Confirm driver availability and upcoming start dates.
• Make sure scheduled routes and assignments are properly covered.
• Communicate reporting times, locations, route instructions, and operational updates to drivers.
• Follow up with drivers who have not confirmed their assignments.
• Assist with locating replacement drivers when there are call-outs or last-minute changes.
• Maintain a reliable backup bench for active delivery programs.
• Track driver attendance, availability, reliability, and deployment status.
• Escalate significant driver or operational issues to leadership.

Recruiting & Candidate Pipeline

• Maintain active job postings for driver opportunities.
• Review incoming driver applicants and identify candidates who meet basic program requirements.
• Communicate with candidates throughout the onboarding process.
• Follow up on applications, agreements, background checks, required documentation, apps, training, and other onboarding steps.
• Keep candidate records organized by market, vehicle type, program, and onboarding status.
• Move qualified candidates into the appropriate driver communication groups.
• Maintain an active pipeline so drivers are available before positions become vacant.

Driver Group Management

• Manage driver communication groups for multiple programs and markets.
• Add and remove drivers as needed.
• Send daily and weekly operational announcements.
• Confirm upcoming assignments and start dates.
• Answer routine driver questions and direct more complex issues to the appropriate person.
• Keep communication organized so information for one program does not become confused with another.

Route & Delivery Coordination

Depending on the delivery program, responsibilities may include:

• Reviewing daily delivery manifests.
• Organizing driver assignments.
• Contacting customers regarding scheduled deliveries and estimated arrival times.
• Coordinating communication between customers and delivery teams.
• Confirming that drivers are en route.
• Monitoring route progress and delivery completion.
• Tracking exceptions, missed deliveries, customer issues, returns, and other operational concerns.
• Making sure required proof-of-delivery procedures are followed.

Some programs may involve parcel delivery, cargo vans, in-home delivery and assembly, or box-truck appliance delivery. The coordinator will help keep each operation organized while maintaining separate workflows for each account.

• Comfortable using spreadsheets, applicant tracking systems, messaging platforms, email, and mobile apps.
• Able to learn new technology and processes quickly.

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following is strongly preferred:

• Last-mile delivery
• Transportation or logistics
• Dispatch
• Courier operations
• Amazon DSP or similar delivery operations
• Driver recruiting
• Fleet operations
• Home delivery
• Transportation staffing
• High-volume recruiting or onboarding

Direct logistics experience is preferred, but we will consider someone with strong high-volume coordination experience who demonstrates excellent judgment, urgency, organization, and communication skills.
