PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Buyer/Planner will be responsible for material planning and procurement activities to meet production and new product requirements. Key aspects of the role include sourcing and supplier management support, materials/supplies planning and procurement, and inventory management. This will be a mostly onsite role in either West Jordan, Utah or San Mateo, CA. Must be local to either location or willing to relocate prior to hire.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute sourcing strategies for goods and services required to support manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate supplier selection and sourcing initiatives, foster supplier relationships, and collaborate with Quality to add suppliers to ASL (Approved Supplier List).
- Monitor supplier performance metrics and drive improvements.
- Purchase and coordinate movement of materials and supplies to meet production schedule and requirements.
- Create purchase orders, including supporting documentation for completeness and clarity; communicate purchase orders to suppliers and confirm delivery schedule.
- Maintain target inventory levels and budgeted cost; minimize excess or scrap of obsolete materials.
- Mitigate supply risks, actively monitor status of open purchase orders, expedite when needed to avoid disruptions in supply.
- Manage and resolve issues regarding purchase orders, invoicing discrepancies, returns, nonconformances and corrective actions with suppliers.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance for issue resolution or process improvements.
- Support MRP system related activities and data maintenance, including reporting, item/BOM creation and updates, corrections, and improvements.
- Support R&D and Engineering with supplier setup, material readiness, and qualification activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS FOR SUCCESS:

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Associate degree or equivalent
- APICS certification preferred
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years of experience in supply chain, purchasing/planning in medical device industry with knowledge of GMP practices and ISO 13485 regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook)
- 1 years of experience with MRP/ERP systems (i.e., NetSuite, Oracle) a plus.

The actual base pay is dependent on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience, market data, skills, geographic location, and business needs. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for equity.
Salary : $75,000 - $100,000
