Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation protocols
- Assist in meal assembly, plating, and presentation to ensure appealing dishes for guests
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely service
- Follow safety standards in production, handling food safely from prep to serving
- Support inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of supply needs
Requirements
- Prior experience in food preparation, restaurant kitchens, or the food industry is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills with slicing techniques; ability to follow recipes accurately
- Familiarity with food safety management and handling procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and team members
- Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Demonstrated understanding of safety standards in production environments
- Culinary experience including menu planning, meal preparation, and catering is advantageous
