As an Automation Engineer you be:
- Designing and developing new automation solutions and manufacturing processes
- Programming and integrating a range of robotic systems including ABB and Universal to name a few
- Leading full lifecycle automation projects from design to implementation
- Partnering with machining, heat treat, quality and other internal groups to identify and execute new automation projects
- Using continuous improvement and lean principles to enhance performance
The successful Automation Engineer will bring:
- A background with automation systems in a machining or manufacturing environment
- Both robotic programming and mechanical design expertise. Strong robotic programmers with a basic mechanical design foundation will also be considered and supported
- Understanding of design for manufacturability.
- A self starter mindset who enjoys owning and driving engineering projects
- Experience programming robots in ABB RAPID, FANUC TP or Universal Robots URScript is strongly preferred.
- 3D CAD Skills: SolidWorks/Inventor or similar preferred
The ideal Automation Engineer will have the below:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar. Master’s preferred
- Minimum five years experience in manufacturing engineering, R&D, automation or machine design
