Roughrider Electric Cooperative is a member-owned, non-profit electric utility that distributes power across Billings, Dunn, Mercer, Oliver, Stark, and Golden Valley counties in North Dakota. With offices in Hazen and Dickinson, the cooperative serves over 8,800 members and delivers electricity to more than 14,700 meters. Role Description:
The Accounting Analyst is a full-time, on-site role based in Dickinson, ND, supporting the cooperative's financial operations, reporting and administrative accounting functions. This role is responsible for preparing, reviewing and reconciling financial statements; maintaining general ledger accounts; balancing notes payable and receivable against general ledger and subsidiary records; and processing journal entries in accordance with accounting standards and cooperative policies.
Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing financial data, assisting with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, filing state tax reports, and preparing reports for management and regulatory requirements. The Accounting Analyst also originates and maintains installment loans, prepares miscellaneous receivable billings, assists with accounts payable processing and reporting, administers and reconciles the petty cash fund, and maintains cooperative investment records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 2-5 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Organization, communication and time management skills are essential.
- Experience in using accounting software(s) is desired.
- A valid North Dakota driver’s license.
