Rotorcraft - Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT)Position Type: Full-TimeJob Description OverviewPlease read this Job Description entirely prior to submitting your resume for consideration.The Rotorcraft AMT plays a crucial role in assisting the Director of Maintenance (DOM) maintain high standards of maintenance, preventative maintenance, rebuilding, and alteration as required in accordance with (but not limited to) 14 CFR Parts 27, 29, 43, 91, 133, 135 and 145 as applicable.Essential Duties / AccountabilitiesEssential duties include, but are not limited to, the below listed functions. Additional functions may be identified by the organization and listed as such in the incumbent's performance appraisal elements. Various tasks may be assigned under each function. Those listed under the examples are not all inclusive; they are examples only and may be amended or added to as needed by the organization:Priority: Safety first focus when performing maintenance ensuring rotorcraft are in a condition for safe operation.Attention to Detail: Thoroughness and accuracy are paramount in early identification and correction of defects/problems during production or installation, reducing waste, rework and potential liabilities.Ensure Product/Service Quality: Maintain consistent quality and safety standards, leading to customer satisfaction and loyalty.Documentation Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Alert Service Bulletins (ASBs), Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICAs), and other approved/acceptable data as required.Practical Experience: Practical experience with the procedures, practices, materials, tools, machine tools, and equipment generally used in constructing, maintaining, or altering airframes or powerplants, appropriate to the rating. (Familiarity with Track and Balance equipment desired)Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Clear and timely communication with colleagues, and management, both verbally and in writing, is essential for reporting/documenting defects and collaborating effectively to aid in preventing maintenance delays, AOG situations, and/or delays in scheduled deliveries.Required Documentation: Ensure all required documentation is completed to the fullest extent possible, this includes parts removed/replaced, precision measuring equipment and test apparatuses used, expiration and calibration dates.Task Completion: Ability to complete tasks within allotted timeframes and to FAA (or equivalent) and company standards.Independent Work: May require independent work and minimal guidance from management staff.QualificationsMinimum QualificationsA&P Experience: A&P 3 years of practical experience concurrently, OR 7 years of practical experience concurrently, OR 4 years Military equivalent experience concurrently performing duties appropriate to both airframe and powerplant ratings for Bell or Airbus helicopters.If a candidate believes they are qualified for the job although they do not have the minimum qualifications or knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs) and other characteristics set forth, a request for consideration through substitution of related education and experience, demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may be made. Any request to substitute related education or experience for minimum qualifications or KSAs must be addressed in writing to the RSG Director of Maintenance (DOM), identifying the related education and experience which demonstrates the candidate’s ability to perform all essential duties of the position.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs) and Other CharacteristicsA Professional Work Ethic is Mandatory.Certification: Must hold a currently effective mechanic certificate issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) with both Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) ratings.Experience: Minimum three (3), seven (7) preferred, years of experience applying principles, practices and standards associated with all levels of aircraft maintenance, repair and alteration. Civilian rotorcraft preferred.Technical Knowledge: Must have a working knowledge of drawings, specifications, blueprints, or other technical data appropriate to both airframe and powerplant ratings.Information Processing: Ability to comprehend and process information accurately and timely.Availability: Must be flexible to support changing needs of the operation, to include being available at earlier or later times than normal hours, and able to work weekends and holidays as necessary.Travel: Occasional travel will be required. May be required to obtain a passport and a visa.Computer Skills: Basic computer experience.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
