Regional Sales Manager (Engineering Focus)
Industry leader is looking for an experienced Sales Engineer.
Position Overview
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market presence within an assigned U.S. territory. This role requires a strong engineering foundation combined with strategic sales execution, supporting customers in the design, selection, and application of precision retaining rings, wave springs, and custom-engineered components.
Key industries include automotive, aerospace, medical devices, oil and gas, and general industrial markets.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Sales & Application Support
- Act as a front-line application engineer, supporting customers with the design, fit, and function of components
- Review customer drawings, tolerances, and application requirements to recommend optimal solutions
- Provide value engineering, material selection guidance, and manufacturability input
- Bridge the gap between customer engineering teams and Rotor Clip’s internal engineering
Territory Growth & Account Management
- Own and grow assigned U.S. territory through strategic account development
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities, leads, and active projects
- Expand business within existing accounts while developing new customers and applications
Customer Engagement
- Plan and execute in-person and virtual meetings with engineering, procurement, and leadership teams
- Serve as the primary technical and commercial contact for customers
- Build long-term relationships based on trust, responsiveness, and technical expertise
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering, Estimating, Customer Service, Quality, and Marketing teams
- Ensure accurate technical inputs for quoting and project execution
- Support resolution of technical issues, quality concerns, and delivery challenges
Business Development & Market Expansion
- Identify new applications and growth opportunities across automotive, aerospace, medical devices, oil and gas, and general industrial markets
- Support marketing initiatives, campaigns, and trade shows
- Conduct technical presentations and lunch-and-learns
Travel & Territory Coverage
- Travel throughout the assigned territory to support customer engagement and growth
- Travel requirement: approximately 25–30%
- Plan travel strategically to maximize impact and coverage
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field required
- 3–7 years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, or design engineering
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications
- Experience with mechanical components, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships
- Experience with CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.) is a plus
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis
- An experienced engineer who can sell
- Someone comfortable discussing design trade-offs, tolerances, and performance requirements
- A problem-solver who can engage directly with customer engineering teams
- A self-driven individual who takes ownership of territory growth
