CNC Programmer / Operator

Description

• Process production design models from Solidworks into Alphacam to produce final G-code and CNC files. This includes nesting, tooling, and final processing of materials on the mill.
• Responsible for regular maintenance of machine and consumable components. Also responsible for maintaining a regular scheduled maintenance with our maintenance vendors.
• Must be able to operate multiple machines simultaneously.
• Must be able to program on PC while running other programs on the CNC.
• Continue education and training to efficiently support the CNC mill.
• Maintain the CNC machine queue for priority order, proper flow, and efficiency.
• Machine and process exhibit structure parts.
• Consult on structure building and finishing processes.
• Produce custom drawing vectors and define exhibit parts when appropriate.
• Maintain and communicate with builders and production designers our stock of materials. Maintain a relationship with all material manufacturers.
• Consult on capabilities of machining specialty materials.
• QC and recording of non-conformance to PD standards in departmental tracking log.

Qualifications

• Experience in CNC, Mill, and Plasma Cutting operations
• Experience in CAD software such as AutoCad, SketchUp, or Solidworks
• Experience with a CNC tooling path software required, Aspire, Alphacam, and Fusion experience preferred
• Firm understanding of exhibit design and constructability
• Time management skills with the ability to work independently
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work over-time hours with little notice
• Ability to calculate proper end mills, feeds, speeds, lubricants, air, and hold down requirements for a large variety of materials
