Job Description
The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily branch operations, combining leadership, operational management, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate has several years of hands-on experience in plumbing or related home service industries (such as drain cleaning, sewer, excavation, or restoration) and understands field operations, customer service, and team management. Key responsibilities include leading technicians and office staff, ensuring efficient service delivery, driving financial performance and branch growth, maintaining safety and regulatory compliance, and delivering excellent customer satisfaction while upholding company standards
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day branch operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and service excellence
- Develop and implement process improvements to optimize workflow and performance
- Coordinate scheduling, dispatching, and job completion to maximize resource utilization
Financial Management (P&L Responsibility)
- Manage full Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibilities for the branch
- Monitor revenue, expenses, and profitability to meet or exceed financial targets
- Implement cost-control strategies while supporting sustainable revenue growth
- Assist in strategic budgeting and forecasting activities
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, supervise, and mentor field technicians and administrative staff
- Foster a positive, accountable, and performance-driven work culture
- Provide ongoing coaching, training, and performance evaluations
- Support employee development and retention initiatives
Customer Service & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all services meet or exceed company quality standards
- Monitor customer satisfaction and service feedback to drive continuous improvement
- Respond to escalated customer concerns and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain a strong focus on delivering an excellent customer experience
Vendor & Business Relationships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Negotiate service agreements and ensure cost-effective partnerships
- Coordinate with external partners to support operational needs
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate branch performance
- Identify operational gaps and implement corrective action plans
- Report regularly on performance metrics, financial status, and operational outcomes
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
- Promote a strong safety culture across all field and office operations
- Conduct regular reviews to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
Industry Awareness
- Stay current on plumbing, water cleanup, and restoration industry trends
- Monitor market developments and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities
- Recommend innovations and improvements to enhance service delivery
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibilities with a strong track record of driving profitability and cost control.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the home services industry (required).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Solid understanding of operational processes and best practices.
- Proficiency in using software systems for scheduling, inventory management, and reporting.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making capabilities.
- Knowledge of local regulations and codes related to the home services industry.
