Hand Therapist Aide

Job Summary: 

The Hand Therapist Aide assists the Certified Hand Therapist by preparing treatment area, greeting and welcoming patients, maintaining inventory of supplies and materials, and completes light clerical duties including insurance verification, authorizations, creating and maintaining therapists schedules and therapy appointment scheduling. 

Key Accountabilities:

Financially qualified patients maximally scheduled, customer service oriented performance.

Essential Duties: 

1. Prepares hand therapy treatment rooms and treatment areas for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
2. Prepares patients for hand therapy treatment by welcoming, comforting, escorting, and/or assisting patients into occupational therapy treatment rooms and treatment areas.
3. Provides information and comfort to hand therapy patients by listening to questions and requests; relaying concerns and questions to occupational therapist.
4. Monitors the implementation of the therapy assistant's and therapist's instructions; ensuring that activities are performed correctly and when they are not, communicates this back to therapist/assistant.
5. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
6. Provides equipment and supplies by sterilizing and delivering equipment and supplies to treatment areas; positioning equipment for therapist access and patient treatment.
7. Maintains hand therapy supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; completing supply requisitions; verifying receipt of supplies.
8. Schedules patients and verifies insurance benefits to determine financial qualifications.
9. Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.

Minimum Requirements: 

• High School diploma or GED minimum education requirement.
• Minimum of one years' experience in medical office environment.
• Computer skills including, but not limited to, MS Office Suite.
• Knowledge of medical office procedures & medical terminology preferred.

• 999 NJ-73, Marlton, NJ 08053, USA (home office)
• 243 Hurffville - Cross Keys Rd, Sewell, NJ 08080, USA (for coverage as needed)

Schedule: 

Mon - Thu: 8:00am - 4:30pm

Pay Range: 

$16.00/hr - $20.00/hr
