Rothman Orthopaedic Specialty Hospital is a single-specialty surgical hospital in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Our hospital was developed by Rothman physicians to provide their patients high quality and patient-focused care. Our facility features 6 fully-equipped operating rooms and 24 in-patient rooms. We are equipped for joint replacements, orthopedic surgery, pain management and spine surgery, as well as sports medicine, foot and ankle, shoulder and elbow, and hand and wrist procedures. REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years Operating Room Experience as a Surg Tech is a must
- Orthopaedic Experience is a PLUS
- BLS
- Able to work the day shift with rotation hours
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Checks room for cleanliness, availability of supplies and equipment at the beginning of the day.
- Open sterile packs and supplies, using surgeon's preference card for specific requests. Use supplies conservatively and efficiently.
- Sets up back table and mayo using surgeon's preference card as a reference for instruments, medications, etc.
- Maintains proper sterile technique when gowning and gloving the Surgeon.
- Assists with draping of patient and confirms the operative area.
- Attaches light handles and hands-off to circulating nurse the appropriate equipment to begin the procedure. (Example: bovie, suction, light source, camera).
- Prepares soiled instruments for cleaning. Decontaminates and reprocesses in steam autoclave.
