With a presence in over 8,000 stores and restaurants nationwide, Roth offers branded and private-label products for the grocery, deli, club, convenience store, and foodservice markets. Based in Colorado Springs, CO, the company operates a USDA on-site inspected and SQF Certified manufacturing facility. Roth's in-house culinary team develops custom recipes, ensuring premium quality and taste in every product.


QUALITY TECHNICIAN

Work Location:

·        Colorado Springs, CO (North side)

Schedule: 

·        Shift 1

o  Monday to Friday - 6:30 am to 3:00 pm

·        Shift Spilt

o  Monday to Friday - 10:30 am to 7:00 pm

·        Shift 2

o  Monday to Friday - 4:30 pm to 1:00 am

·        Over Time

o  Occasional weekend shift support required


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1)     Production Monitoring

a.      Monitors and inspects production and packaging processes to ensure that all products meet internal and external quality standards and regulations.

b.     Monitor product attributes, critical control points, and communicate any deviation from specifications to the Supervisor.

c.      Perform any analysis/ tests as per work instructions.

d.     Communicate with Production and Quality Managers for any violations of the quality process.

e.      Responsible for verifying the COA received for the material and inspecting the material. QA personnel also inspect the shipping trailer along with the warehouse personnel.

2)     Hold and Release

a.      Place on “HOLD” non-conforming product, document status, and communicate this information to the production supervisors and site leadership team.

b.     Perform secondary evaluations on all non-conforming products, document product status, and communicate results to Quality Management.

3)     Sanitation and Pre-Op Inspections

a.      Perform pre-operation inspection before plant start-up and complete all necessary swabs and tests as needed.

b.     Complete Listeria Swabbing and Air Monitoring testing as per the site environmental monitoring procedure.

c.      Adhere to all applicable standard operating procedures, including cleaning and sanitation, and ensure allergen management practices are implemented on the production floor.


4)     Compliance

a.      Monitor the production areas for Good Manufacturing Practices compliance.

b.     Responsible for compliance with the applicable requirements of SQF and food safety.

5)     Calibration

a.      Keeps inspection and measurement equipment operating by following operating and calibration procedures and notifying management when repairs are necessary.

6)     Reporting

a.      Complete reports accurately and neatly. Ensure that reports can be easily retrieved.

b.     Document inspection results by completing reports and logs and inputting data into a quality database.

c.      Complete pre-shipment review to ensure all the documentation is completed accurately before the finished product is released for shipping.

7)     Other Duties

a.      Interface with the QA Supervisor for direction and assignments.

b.     Perform Lead duties in their absence.

c.      Perform other duties as assigned.

d.     Perform sensory evaluation of the finished product as per the site sensory procedure.

e.      Perform Glass & Brittle plastic audits.

f.       Perform GMP Audits.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

·        High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

·        Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment required, food manufacturing preferred. 

·        Preferred associate degree in Life Sciences, Food Science, or Chemistry.

·        Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

·        Reliable, Responsible, Committed

·        Quality Systems and food safety experience preferred

·        Knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety Programs preferred.

·        Basic computer literacy, Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

·        Good communication skills

Language

·        English, Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.

Pay:  

  • ·        $20-$21 (Reflective of experience)
