Duties
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card payments
- Provide friendly, professional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Conduct product demos when applicable to highlight features and benefits of store merchandise
- Upsell related products or services to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the sales floor is tidy and well-merchandised according to store standards
- Maintain accurate cash drawer handling procedures, including balancing registers at shift end
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette by answering inquiries promptly and professionally
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math is a plus
- Supervising experience in a retail setting is advantageous for candidates interested in growth opportunities
- Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
