Responsibilities
Assist licensed therapists with patient care activities, including preparing treatment areas and ensuring equipment readiness. Support therapeutic sessions by engaging children in prescribed exercises, activities, and mobility tasks designed to promote development and recovery. Monitor and document patient responses during therapy sessions, noting progress and any concerns for review by the clinical team. Help with patient intake procedures, including gathering medical histories and updating charts to ensure accurate records. Maintain a safe and clean environment by adhering to infection control protocols and equipment sanitation standards. Provide compassionate support to patients and their families, answering questions and offering encouragement throughout treatment. Participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress, treatment plans, and any necessary adjustments to therapy approaches.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or certification in healthcare or related fields is a plus. Previous hospital or clinical experience working with pediatric populations is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and acute care practices relevant to pediatric therapy. Experience in inpatient, outpatient, or post-acute care settings—particularly within hospital medicine—is preferred. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as clinics or hospital units specializing in orthopedics, geriatrics, or sub-acute care. Excellent patient service skills with a caring attitude toward children and their families. Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining flexibility to adapt as needed.
