Duties
- Assist lead teachers in planning and implementing engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional development.
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior, managing routines, and maintaining a safe environment for children.
- Provide individualized attention to children with diverse needs, including those with autism or disabilities, ensuring they feel supported and included.
- Help facilitate activities that promote early childhood development, such as toddler care, Montessori methods, or preschool learning strategies.
- Supervise children during activities, transitions, meals, and outdoor play to ensure safety at all times.
- Assist with classroom organization, including setting up learning materials and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum enhancements that cater to different learning styles and developmental stages.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians about children's progress and behavior in a professional manner.
- Participate in ongoing training related to childhood development, behavior management, special education techniques, and inclusive teaching practices.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, private school settings or similar environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, including literacy education, math fundamentals, classroom management techniques, and curriculum development.
- Experience working with children with special needs such as autism or disabilities is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or other educational philosophies like preschool or toddler care approaches is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and engage with families.
- Demonstrated ability to manage behavior positively and foster an inclusive classroom environment.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining patience and enthusiasm.
Certification or training in childhood development or early childhood education is desirable but not mandatory; ongoing professional development is encouraged.
