What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista position at Rosso Coffee Bar?
BARISTA
To be considered for employment at Rosso Coffee Bar, a candidate must have a great attitude, a friendly and confident style of interacting with others, and flexible scheduling availability. Prior coffee experience is preferred. Properly preparing specialty coffee is not only a science but an art, and interest in learning the necessary skills and continuing to improve each shift is an expectation of every employee!
In order to work a solo shift as a Rosso Coffee Bar Barista, an employee must be able to perform the following tasks and adhere to the following standards:
- Has current Food Handler’s Permit via ServSafe Program
- Can explain and ring up each item on the current menu with competence and confidence
- Understands basics of customer service and hospitality and is committed to giving the customer a patient and memorable experience
- Feels confident using the Toast point of sale system to key in orders, and can complete the monetary transaction via credit card reader or cash drawer
- Can build all drinks on menu and serve in appropriate vessel
- Understands the standards of service for espresso shots and steamed milk
- Has completed bar training with and is deemed ready for service by trainer
- Is able to troubleshoot and problem solve if/when issues occur with espresso extraction
- Shows commitment to keeping their workspace clean, well stocked, and following all health department standards
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
