What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Field Engineer position at ROSS?
ROSS Consultancy USA is hiring a Field Engineer with an electrical and low voltage bias for a major semiconductor manufacturing project in Chandler, Arizona.
This is a site-based role reporting to the Superintendent. You are the link between what is on the drawings and what gets installed in the field.
Field Engineer - What you will be doing
- Support the Superintendent on daily electrical and low voltage installation activities in your assigned area
- Track subcontractor progress against drawings, installed quantities, and the schedule
- Review shop drawings and submittals, and resolve field conflicts before they hit the schedule
- Raise and track RFIs, keep the field drawing set current, and log changes as they land
- Walk the work for quality and installation compliance, then build and close out punch lists
- Support material tracking, deliveries, and long lead items
- Help assemble turnover packages and test documentation ahead of commissioning
- Keep daily reports, photo records, and as-built markups accurate
- Work to the site safety program every day, without exception
Field Engineer - What we are looking for
- Field experience on large industrial, semiconductor, data center, pharmaceutical, or similar complex construction projects
- Working knowledge of electrical and low voltage systems, covering power distribution, conduit and cable tray, terminations, grounding, fire alarm, security, structured cabling, and controls
- Able to read and work from electrical drawings, single lines, and specifications
- A degree in construction management, electrical engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience gained in the field
- Comfortable holding subcontractors to schedule and quality standards on an active site
- Confident using Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction software
Useful, not essential
- OSHA 30
- Fab, cleanroom, or tool install exposure
- Involvement in commissioning, testing, or turnover on a previous project
