We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Human Resources Manager to lead all HR functions for a growing manufacturing organization in Muskegon. This role serves as the primary HR leader and strategic business partner to management while supporting employees across the organization.

Responsibilities
- Employee Relations & Labor Relations
- Serve as the primary resource for employee relations matters, including coaching, conflict resolution, investigations, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation.
- Promote a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws.
- Support labor relations activities and maintain productive relationships with union representatives.
- Assist leadership with grievance management, contract interpretation, and labor-related matters.
- Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
- Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts for hourly, skilled trades, technical, professional, and management positions.
- Develop sourcing strategies to attract top talent in a competitive labor market.
- Partner with hiring managers to identify workforce needs and improve hiring processes.
- Coordinate onboarding activities to ensure successful employee integration and retention.
- Compensation & Benefits
- Administer employee compensation programs, salary structures, and wage reviews.
- Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and leave administration.
- Partner with benefit providers and brokers to ensure competitive offerings and effective employee communication.
- Analyze compensation and benefits trends to support retention and workforce planning initiatives.
- HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates.
- Oversee performance management, employee development, and succession planning initiatives.
- Manage HR metrics, reporting, and personnel records.
- Support safety, training, and workforce development programs in partnership with operational leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Experience managing multiple HR functions, including recruiting, employee relations, compensation, and benefits administration.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and serve as the lead HR professional for the facility.
Preferred Skills
- Human Resources experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
- Union labor relations experience strongly preferred.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
