Position Overview
Substitute Paraprofessionals work alongside certified teachers to support students with diverse learning, behavioral, or personal care needs. You may work one-on-one with a specific student, assist small groups, or provide general classroom support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and lesson activities.
- Reinforce learning concepts individually or in small group settings.
- Provide positive behavioral encouragement and support.
- Assist students with transitions, mobility, or personal care needs as required.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass a FBI/BCI criminal background check (completed via District HR).
- Valid Educational Aide Permit from the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce (HR will assist you with the application process if needed!).
- Strong patience, communication skills, and a genuine passion for working with children.
