What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Parts Specialist position at Ross Environmental Services, Inc.?
Key Responsibilities/ Essential Job Functions
Maintains high functionality inside of the Ross Maintenance System (CMMS), including work order verification, reporting and assignment scheduling.
Sets up and maintains paper and/or electronic filing systems for records, correspondence, and other material (e.g., HM-183 paperwork, driver qualification records, etc.).
Maintains functionality inside of the Ross accounting system, i.e. creates purchase order requests receiving items including fuel and invoicing.
Be responsible for parts:
Ordering, Picking up, Labeling, Receiving, Stocking, Inventory management etc.
Prepares reports, memos, letters, and other documents, using word processing, spreadsheet, or other database software, specifically Microsoft Office products concerning:
Fuel Inventory, Parts Inventory, Work Orders, RTS Vacation Calendars, Vehicle Information etc.
Makes copies of correspondence and other printed material as needed.
Maintains information in Safety Management database, including driver information related to CDL, work-related accidents, training, substance testing and worker injury reports.
Answers telephones and gives information to callers, takes messages, or transfers calls to appropriate individuals.
Greets visitors, handles their inquiries, and directs them to appropriate persons according to their needs.
Operates office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, and phone systems, and uses computers for spreadsheet, word processing, database management, and other applications.
Opens, reads, routes, and distributes incoming mail and other material.
Receives routes and maintains records of all package deliveries for RIS, RTS and RES.
Compiles and submits quarterly hazardous waste tonnage taxes on waste shipments transported for states of PA and MA and NJ.
Responsible for management of the RTS uniform program.
Schedules and maintains records of medical surveillance physicals for all personnel at RTS.
Completes a daily inspection of on-site transfer line
Manage waste satellite accumulation area: labels, manifests and relocate full drums of waste liquids and solids as required (used oils/filters).
Responsible for inbound and outbound rental inspections and billing.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. Specialized training in transportation services, maintenance, and permitting and/or DOT regulations is a plus.
Two (2) or more years of related or similar Maintenance experience.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written), organization, and interpersonal skills.
Strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
Part / Maintenance knowledge is required.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Must be able to timely generate quality reports and other documents to meet company and customer needs.
Must be analytical, detail oriented, customer-focused.
Must be able to follow established company procedures as well as those related to regulatory requirements.
Physical demands are representative of those necessary for a general maintenance shop assistant position. This job involves desk work, keyboard and computer skills, phones, parts room and truck access, the ability to drive a company trucks and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Class B CDL will be required within 60 days.
Knowledge of GHS labels and placards beneficial.
Must have a flexible schedule. M-F primary but some Saturdays will be required.
