- Lead field execution of capital project installations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project plans.
- Prepare, coordinate, and maintain all required documentation to support contractor activities on site, including training compliance, hot work permits, confined space permits, and other regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical direction and on-site oversight to contractors during project implementation, ensuring alignment with project scope, specifications, and timelines.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with EHS, Incineration, Operations Support, Receiving, RTS, and other stakeholders to ensure effective planning, communication, and execution of project work.
- Support site readiness and compliance by operating heavy equipment (e.g., forklifts, Bobcat, excavator) and assisting with area preparation as needed.
- Includes coordinating material handling activities such as parts delivery, refractory offloading, and proper storage.
- Independently manage smaller capital projects from planning through execution, including equipment procurement, contractor coordination, and project closeout.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects (typically 10–20 ), including overseeing simultaneous installations and maintaining clear communication on project status, risks, and progress.
- Participate in daily plant meetings to align on capital and Technology project planning, priorities, and execution updates.
- Support project managers across departments by assisting with execution and implementation activities, enabling them to focus on planning, engineering, and design work.
- Partner closely with project managers to ensure successful project delivery, while taking ownership of day-to-day construction coordination and field execution activities.
- Understands both RIS’ ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and assists with executing their objectives.
- Performs other job-related duties assigned.
- 10 years of progressive experience in construction, industrial maintenance, capital project execution, or a related field within a manufacturing, industrial, or plant environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant hands-on experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading field execution of capital projects, including contractor oversight and coordination of multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Strong working knowledge of industrial safety practices and regulatory requirements, including permit processes such as hot work, confined space, and lockout/tagout.
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and construction plans to support project execution.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, EHS, Maintenance, Engineering) to successfully execute projects in a live production environment.
- Hands-on experience operating or working around heavy equipment (e.g., forklifts, skid steers, excavators) and supporting site preparation activities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and communicate status, risks, and timelines to stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, operationally complex environment.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to provide direction to contractors and collaborate with project managers and plant leadership.
- Availability to be on-call or work occasional off hours as business needs dictate.
- Must be medically released to wear a respirator.
