Senior Energy EngineerCompany DescriptionRoss Energy Consulting specializes in helping clients achieve energy security for their buildings and communities by providing energy efficiency and comfort, resiliency, compliance, and research and technical assistance services. They have experience in over four million square feet of buildings, including clients such as the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Defense (DoD), the Guggenheim Museum and over 50 real estate developers and property management firms.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time hybrid Senior Energy Engineer position located in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for site visits, preparation of the teams engineering documents, QA/QC of Junior Engineer work, and Project Management of multiple on-site and remote projects and team workflows. Additional responsibilities include data collection and analyzation across multiple platforms, aggregation of data to create final reporting, delivery of reporting and customer facing meetings to discuss opportunities for portfolio wide carbon reduction and energy savings projects.The key responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:Preparation of the team’s preparation of engineering documents.Quality Assurance and Quality Control for Energy Audits, RCx, and document preparation, production, and deliverySupport strategic initiatives that result in reliability, resiliency, efficiency, safety, and reduced carbon emissions.Identify building / mechanical / process issues impacting energy consumption; and analyze heating, cooling, ventilation, and lighting systems to determine optimum operating conditions.Develop and recommend maintenance project priorities for equipment and operational strategies to maximize operating efficiency.Review and approve drawings, specifications, and calculations of junior engineers.Project management for key projectsProject management monitoring profitability of the projects.Mentor junior engineers in their technical professional development.Maintain standards and quality of work.Lead specific improvement initiatives to prepare the company for growth. QualificationsAnalytical Skills, Energy Policy, and Energy Industry knowledgeExperience in Commercial and Multifamily Real Estate and Energy ManagementExperience with 1-pipe and 2-pipe steam heating systems, hydronic heating and chilled water plantsStrong problem-solving abilities and attention to detailExcellent communication and presentation skillsProficiency in energy modeling and simulation softwareUnderstanding of building codes and regulationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or a related fieldProfessional Engineering LicenseOther preferred certifications (e.g., Certified Energy Manager, Certified Building Commissioning Professional, etc.) are a plusPerksCompetitive salary and benefit package (health care, retirement, and paid time off)Approximately 50% of work is remote, 50% is on site in New York CityWork with a small team and get exposure to numerous aspects of the industry and entrepreneurialism in general
