Job Overview
Mature Male Caregiver / Community Mentor Needed
Schedule: Part-Time, 4 days per week, 4–6 hours per day (with opportunity for additional hours)
Pay: Competitive, based on experience
Roslyn Home Care is looking for a mature, dependable, and compassionate male caregiver to support a 24-year-old young man with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This is more than a caregiving position. We're looking for someone who can be a positive mentor, role model, and companion while encouraging independence and personal growth.

About the client:
Intelligent, friendly, and communicates very well. He has excellent verbal and written communication skills and enjoys being treated with respect as an independent adult. He appreciates meaningful conversations and caregivers who will encourage him to think independently, set goals, and challenge himself.
Our goal is to help continue building independence while increasing his involvement in the community, preparing for employment, and developing confidence in everyday life.
Responsibilities
As the caregiver and mentor, you will:
Community Integration
- Accompany the client on community outings and events
- Encourage participation in recreational and social activities
- Help identify volunteer opportunities and community programs
- Support building friendships and community connections
Employment Support
- Assist with job searches
- Help complete online applications
- Practice interview skills
- Encourage confidence during the employment process
- Advocate and provide support during job-related activities
Independence & Life Skills
- Encourage independent decision-making
- Help set and work toward personal goals
- Promote problem-solving and self-advocacy
- Assist with planning schedules and community activities
Mentorship
We're looking for someone who can:
- Build a genuine, respectful relationship with the client
- Engage in meaningful conversations
- Encourage confidence and independence
- Be patient, positive, and supportive
- Challenge Alex in healthy, encouraging ways while celebrating his successes
Ideal Candidate

Experience in any of the following is a plus:
- Caregiving
- Direct Support Professional (DSP)
- Behavioral support
- Special education
- Mentoring
- Working with individuals with developmental disabilities
