The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of materials, components, and services to support manufacturing operations. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and company standards. The ideal candidate brings strong supplier management skills, a strategic mindset, and experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
Key Essential Functions/Duties
- Collaborate with company leadership to design and execute strategic sourcing strategies for essential categories such as raw materials, packaging, and indirect goods.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are met.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to understand material requirements and resolve supply issues.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and risk mitigation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier performance metrics.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes and systems.
- Lead or support cross-functional projects related to supply chain optimization.
Education/Experience/Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
- 5–7 years of procurement experience.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of sourcing strategies, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation.
Preferred Skills
- Certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, CPIM).
- Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience with food manufacturing.
- Familiarity with global sourcing and logistics.
