Dishwasher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher to join our team at our Indian restaurant. The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards of all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. The ideal candidate should work well in a fast-paced environment, follow instructions efficiently, and contribute to a clean and safe kitchen space.

Key Responsibilities:

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and cooking utensils using manual and automatic dishwashing equipment.
• Ensure all kitchenware is clean, dry, and stored properly.
• Maintain cleanliness of dish area, including floors, walls, and trash bins.
• Assist with basic kitchen cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces).
• Remove garbage and recycling from the kitchen in a timely manner.
• Follow health and safety guidelines, including food safety and chemical handling.
• Help receive and organize deliveries, if required.
• Support cooks and kitchen staff with tasks during busy hours.
• Report any broken or damaged equipment to the kitchen manager.
• Keep an eye on inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor of low stock.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a restaurant kitchen is a plus but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
• Good time management and communication skills.
• Team-oriented attitude with a positive work ethic.
• Willingness to learn and help with basic prep or other tasks if needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle hot or wet items safely.

Work Environment:

• Busy, hot kitchen environment with use of water, cleaning chemicals, and dishwashing equipment.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
