The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor oversees a maintenance shop responsible for preventive and corrective repairs of a fleet, machinery supporting post-collection facilities, and equipment servicing the container shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and timely repairs of trucks, containers, and heavy equipment.
- Plan and schedule maintenance work, monitor operational performance, and recommend process improvements.
- Conduct inspections, quality control, and oversee diagnostic and repair activities.
- Manage inventory, control costs, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Provide coaching, training, employee performance evaluations, and participate in hiring and disciplinary actions.
- Maintain technical expertise in engine, emission, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems.
- Handle administrative duties including payroll, records, budgeting, and goal setting.
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- ASE Certifications, including T2 Diesel, Master, and others.
- Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment maintenance experience and 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, safety regulations, and inventory management.
- Leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
