Job DescriptionThe Lead Practitioner Role is a key cultural and operational leader within Asaya Spa. This role supports practitioner development, service excellence, and guest experience while partnering closely with spa leadership to ensure every touchpoint reflects the Rosewood commitment to luxury and care.Candidates must hold and maintain a current massage, esthetics and/or nail technician license (dual licensure preferred).Key Responsibilities

• Inspire and cultivate a service-driven spa culture while supporting hiring needs.
• Oversee daily operations, including but not limited to inventory, training schedules, treatment menu curation, service quality assurance, practitioner scheduling and service flow.
• Lead onboarding, and coaching of practitioners.
• Foster a positive, service-driven spa culture aligned with Forbes standards. Support spa leadership with outreach and marketing initiatives to grow spa awareness.
• Welcome and orient guests to spa amenities and offerings
• Provide clear, engaging descriptions of treatments, packages, and programming.
• Promote spa services, retail, and seasonal experiences
• Address guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism and care
• Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized spa environment through active oversight, CA Massage Council, Board of Barbering and Forbes Standards.

• Demonstrates precision, efficiency, and attention to detail while maintaining a calm, composed presence as the lead for practitioners.
• Exercises sound judgment in problem-solving and works effectively with minimal supervision in partnership with spa leadership. 
• Coach and guide practitioners on how to anticipate guest needs,  consistently delivers exceptional, personalized service while maintaining confidentiality.
• Communicates with clarity and warmth, supported by strong listening skills and working knowledge of basic technology.
• Brings a positive, service-driven attitude and thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Technical Skills

• Trained and practice Swedish, sports, deep tissue, hot stone, reflexology, aromatherapy, cupping and lymphatic drainage massage.
• Proficient in advanced facial treatments, including, but not limited to microdermabrasion, nano-pen infusions, chemical peels, LED therapies, radiofrequency, microcurrent, dermaplaning, specialized facial massage techniques (Gua Sha, lymphatic drainage), current facial technology and in-depth skin analysis for customized, high-demand treatments. 
• Experienced in body treatments and rituals, including exfoliating scrubs, wraps, and additional seasonal spa experiences.
• Knowledgeable in professional skincare lines with the ability to recommend products that support long-term skin health and high retail sales.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages a plus.
• Meets the physical demands of a spa environment, including lifting up to 50 lbs., extended standing, bending, reaching, and maintaining clear communication with guests and colleagues.

Licenses & Certifications: Must hold a current California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology Esthetician license; dual licensure in Nail Technology or Massage Therapy is preferred but not required.

Pay: The pay range for this position is between $18.78 and $ 20.87 per hour. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience, type of hotel luxury experience, location, and education.
