Position: Part-Time Musical Theater Teacher
We are seeking a creative and collaborative Musical Theater Teacher to design and lead a weekly performing arts class for students ages 6–10. This class will combine acting, movement, and music in a playful, process-oriented setting.
Schedule & Details:
- Class Days: Thursdays & Fridays
- Class Times: 1:30–3:30 PM
- Start Date: August 27, 2025
- Prep Time: Paid planning and coordination hours available in August
- Compensation: $25–$45 per hour DOE, including prep and class time
- Age Range: 6–10 years old (Grades 1–4)
- Design and teach a developmentally appropriate musical theater class that nurtures confidence, creativity, and collaboration
- Incorporate elements of storytelling, acting, singing, movement, and stage presence
- Plan a culminating in-class performance or showcase at the end of each session
- Collaborate with RCS staff and adapt plans to meet student needs and interests
- Communicate positively and professionally with students, staff, and families
- Has experience teaching musical theater or performing arts to elementary-aged children
- Prioritizes student voice, creativity, and joy in the learning process
- Is aligned with progressive, whole-child educational values
- Is dependable, organized, and responsive to communication
- Enjoys working in a collaborative and community-oriented environment
