Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence and safety
- Support the implementation of treatment plans designed by licensed occupational therapists, ensuring therapy goals are met effectively
- Help facilitate therapy sessions in our skilled nursing facilities
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals—including physicians, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists—to coordinate comprehensive care strategies
- Conduct patient transport within facilities and assist with manual handling to ensure safe movement and positioning during therapy sessions
- Maintain accurate care documentation, progress notes, and treatment records in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
- Communicate effectively with clients and caregivers to explain therapy activities, address concerns, and promote engagement in the rehabilitation process
- Support geriatric patients by applying physiology and anatomy knowledge to optimize therapeutic outcomes
- Contribute to care plan adjustments based on patient progress and feedback while adhering to medical terminology standards
Experience
- Prior experience working in inpatient settings such as hospitals or skilled nursing facilities is highly preferred
- Demonstrated experience in outpatient clinics or home health environments enhances your ability to adapt therapy approaches across diverse contexts
- Hands-on experience assisting with acute care cases involving complex medical imaging or treatment plans is advantageous
- Proven track record working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders or disabilities—including autism spectrum disorder—demonstrates your specialized expertise
- Experience working within geriatrics or occupational health settings underscores your versatility in addressing age-specific needs
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy ensures precise communication and effective intervention planning
