Role Description The Tax Associate is a full-time hybrid role based in Orlando, FL, with flexibility for some work from home. This role involves preparing federal, state, and local tax returns for high net worth individuals and business entities, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. The Tax Associate will review financial statements and supporting documentation, identify tax issues and opportunities, and assist in tax planning strategies under the guidance of senior team members. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching tax law changes, responding to tax notices, maintaining accurate workpapers, and collaborating with colleagues to meet engagement deadlines. The role also includes communicating with clients in a professional manner, addressing tax-related questions, and contributing to process improvements within the tax department. Qualifications
- Strong skills in Tax Compliance and Tax Preparation for individuals and business entities.
- Solid understanding of Tax and Tax Law, with the ability to research and interpret complex regulations.
- Foundational knowledge of Finance, including financial statements and basic accounting principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; eligibility to pursue CPA licensure is preferred.
- Prior internship or work experience in public accounting or tax is beneficial.
- Proficiency with tax software and Microsoft Office applications; experience with CPA firm tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a client-focused, collaborative mindset.
