POSITION SUMMARY

The Pre-Finisher installs all door sills, rub rails, fenderettes, roll up doors, steps, running boards, and tail board. They will be required to fabricate intermediate steps and other fabrication needed. As a Pre-Finisher, they will bend and cut sheets of metal as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer's Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

  1. Installs all door sills, rub rails, fenderettes, roll up doors, steps, running boards, and tail board.
  2. Fabricates intermediate steps and other fabrication needed.
  3. Bends and cuts sheets of metal as needed.
  4. Measures and cuts out flat doors for each truck's specifications.
  5. Welds to complete the fabrication process as needed.
  6. Utilizes basic hand tools, shear, and brake press.
  7. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor to meet the needs of the department.

  • Handheld power tools

  • Wire stripper/crimper
  • Utility Knife

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’S):

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Welding Experience required.
  • 1 year of experience using a shear and break press.

Skills:

Language:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Math:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields.
  • Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
  • Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and tape measure
