Are you passionate about dance and love inspiring young children? Roseland School of Dance is seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and experienced Part-Time Dance Teacher to join our warm and supportive studio family for the upcoming dance season. Compensation based on experience and expertise.
About Us
Roseland School of Dance is a recreational, non-competition dance studio dedicated to creating a positive and encouraging environment where students can grow in confidence, creativity, technique, and joy through dance. Located in Stony Brook, NY, our program focuses on quality dance education while fostering a lifelong love of movement and the arts for dancers of all ages and abilities.
We offer classes in:
- Creative Movement
- Pre-School Dance
- Tap
- Ballet
- Jazz
- Tumbling
- Hip Hop
- Lyrical
- Pointe
Position Responsibilities
- Teach dance classes for young children and students of varying ages and skill levels
- Create engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and choreography
- Choreograph recital routines for end-of-year performances
- Foster a positive, nurturing, and structured classroom environment
- Break down movement and technique in a clear, encouraging, and effective way
- Communicate professionally with staff, students, and families
- Commit to the full dance season and scheduled recital events
Qualifications
- Strong technical background in one or more dance styles
- Ability to teach and adapt instruction for children of all ages and abilities
- Experience working with young children preferred
- Energetic, patient, and passionate about dance education
- Reliable transportation and punctuality are required
- Available for the entire dance year
- Prior teaching and choreography experience preferred
