ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment for transporting to designated areas. Returns unused supplies to supply room
2. Sanitizes and maintains all floors at high levels of appearance by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, polishing/spray buffing and stripping and refinishing on a routine basis. Vacuums and shampoos carpeted areas utilizing established department procedures.
3. Cleans and chemically disinfects walls, ceilings, blinds and windows in patient rooms, hallways, and other areas.
4. Collects and disposes of trash and infectious wastes according to hospital/department procedures; washes waste baskets and large refuse containers and relines with trash liners.
5. Washes sinks and other plumbing fixtures, attends to water coolers, and replaces disposables such as towels, soap and toilet tissue.
6. Collects soiled linen and transports them to soiled linen holding area; returns clean linen to proper appropriate storage areas.
7. Moves and sets up heavy furniture, arranges furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion, after cleaning or upon request.
8. Maintains established department policies, procedures, objectives, safety and environmental and infection control.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES REQUIRED
1. H.S. Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
2. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to properly measure and use cleaning solutions.
3. At least 6 months of housekeeping / janitorial experience in a healthcare setting
4. Work requires the ability to push, move or lift objects weighing between twenty and fifty pounds; with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
