Primary Purpose:
The Bilingual Interventionist supports the academic growth of emergent bilingual students by providing targeted, data-driven intervention in reading and mathematics. This role focuses on accelerating student learning through small-group instruction, intentional language development, and the use of research-based strategies aligned to grade-level standards.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, instructional staff, and campus leadership to identify student needs, design intervention plans, and monitor progress. Deliver instruction that integrates language acquisition with content mastery, ensuring students develop both academic skills and bilingual proficiency. Support a learning environment that is culturally responsive and promotes confidence, independence, and academic success for all students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university

Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements for elementary education

Bilingual certification required
-
ESL certification required
-
Special Education certification preferred
Special Knowledge and Skills:
-
Knowledge of foundational reading skills (phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension) and math intervention strategies for elementary students

Knowledge of Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines and TEKS for K–4

Knowledge of ELPS and second language acquisition strategies

Ability to deliver targeted small-group instruction based on student data

Experience with progress monitoring tools and intervention programs

Strong understanding of differentiation and scaffolding for emergent bilingual students

Ability to integrate language objectives with content instruction

Knowledge of MTSS/RTI processes and intervention frameworks

Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers to align intervention with Tier 1 instruction

Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to implement IEP accommodations and collaborate with Special Education staff
