We're seeking a Director of Data & Technology—a strategic leader with deep technical expertise and a passion for building scalable, secure, and compliant data systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to shape the future of mortgage data infrastructure.
Position Summary:
The Director of Data & Technology will lead the design, development, and management of data infrastructure and reporting systems that support mortgage origination workflows. This role will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure scalable, secure, and compliant data operations tailored to originations.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Infrastructure
- Design and maintain ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, and SQL Server.
- Integrate third-party data sources (e.g., credit bureaus, lead providers) into core systems.
- Ensure data quality, lineage, and traceability across all origination's workflows.
Reporting & Analytics
- Build dashboards and reports for pipeline performance, operational KPIs, and investor reporting.
- Partner with Finance and Operations to reconcile origination data with servicing and capital markets views.
- Support ad hoc analysis for executive decision-making and regulatory inquiries.
Vendor & Team Coordination
- Manage outsourced engineering teams and coordinate onboarding, access provisioning, and deliverables.
- Define and enforce coding standards, deployment protocols, and data validation routines.
Process Development
- Implement structured technical assessments for new hires in engineering roles.
- Document and maintain technical SOPs for originations data operations.
Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in mortgage data engineering or analytics.
- Strong command of SQL (Snowflake, T-SQL), Azure, and ETL frameworks.
- Experience working with third-party data providers and outsourced engineering teams.
- Familiarity with mortgage origination workflows and regulatory data requirements.
