Job Summary
Under the immediate direction of the Superintendent and/or designee; perform a variety of child care activities; assist in maintaining proper school and classroom environment; supervise students in extended day setting; and do other related work as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
Knowledge of: Supervising children in a before and after school quiet study and recreational setting; demonstrate an understanding, patient and receptive attitude toward students of varied age groups; comply with appropriate cleanliness standards, health and safety codes; and prepare food snacks. Ability to: Learn the basic principles and practices of child growth and development; learn the basic principles and practices of nutrition; supervise children; learn to administer First Aid; understand and follow oral and written instructions; perform computer generated tasks; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; respect confidential matters; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; and coordinate schedules of other day class workers.
Extended Day Class experience required. Experience working with children desired. High school education or equivalent. College course work in Child Development preferred
