Position Summary
The Agriculture Coordinator supports all agricultural operations under Rosebud Farm Company, including irrigated pivots, dryland farming, and hay production. This position also supports Project 19X in coordination with the Food Sovereignty Initiative (FSI), helping align field work, equipment, and project goals.
This role supports the development and management of budgets for both Rosebud Farm Company operations and Project 19X. This is a hands-on position that works across farm operations, project coordination, and workforce support, including assisting with apprentices in the field.
Reporting Structure
· Reports to the Rosebud Farm Company General Manager on all farm operations and business activities
· Reports to the Food Sovereignty Initiative Director on all Project 19X coordination and activities
Duties and Responsibilities
Farm Operations
· Support daily agricultural operations including planting, irrigation, harvesting, and field maintenance
· Assist with organic alfalfa production on irrigated and dryland acres
· Help coordinate pivot irrigation and overall field activities
Project 19X (FSI Coordination)
· Support implementation and coordination of Project 19X
· Assist with planning, tracking progress, and aligning field work with project goals
· Serve as a connection between field operations and FSI leadership
Budgeting & Planning
· Support the development and management of budgets for Rosebud Farm Company operations
· Support budgeting and financial planning for Project 19X in coordination with FSI
· Assist with tracking expenses, inputs, and operational costs
Apprentice Support
· Assist in facilitating apprentices in field settings
· Provide hands-on support and guidance during daily work activities
Equipment & Field Logistics
· Serve as the point of contact for farm equipment and field tools
· Assist with equipment scheduling, basic maintenance coordination, and organization
Communication & Reporting
· Provide regular updates on field operations and Project 19X progress
· Communicate needs, challenges, and timelines to leadership
Qualifications
· Basic knowledge of agriculture, farming, or ranching preferred
· Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
· Ability to operate, or willingness to learn, farm equipment
· Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment
· Basic understanding of budgeting, or willingness to learn
· Good communication and organizational skills
Working Conditions
· Primarily outdoor, field-based work
· May require lifting, operating equipment, and extended hours during peak seasons
· Work across multiple farm sites and project areas
Compensation & Benefits
· Salary Range: $55,000 – $63,400, depending on experience
