Position OverviewThe Controls Engineer will design, program, and commission PLC-based control systems for automated packaging and conveyor equipment. This role will focus on Beckhoff TwinCAT programming and system integration, collaborating with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to deliver efficient, reliable automation solutions. Knowledge of Codesys and Allen-Bradley PLCs is a plus. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement PLC programs using Beckhoff TwinCAT.Configure and integrate I/O, motion control, and HMI interfaces for automation systems.Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure seamless equipment integration.Debug, test, and optimize control systems during factory acceptance and field commissioning.Document control logic, wiring schematics, and I/O lists.Provide on-site and remote support for system installation and troubleshooting.Ensure all automation systems comply with industry safety and electrical standards. QualificationsBS in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience).3–7 years experience in PLC programming, automation, or industrial controls.Must have hands-on experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT control systems.Strong understanding of I/O configuration, servo/motion control, and industrial networks.Ability to read electrical schematics and interface with mechanical systems.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Preferred ExperienceFamiliarity with Codesys and Allen-Bradley PLCs (Studio 5000 / Logix).Experience integrating conveyor systems, packaging lines, or custom automation machinery.Understanding of UL 508A, machine safety, and industrial communication protocols (EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP).Field commissioning and customer support experience.
