HEALTH ROOM NURSE - LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE

HOURS: 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM

EFFECTIVE DATE: NOVEMBER 20, 2026, through JUNE 11, 2027

LOCATION: GLENWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

COMPENSATION: PER ESPA CONTRACT

$33.54/hour to start - $36.53/hour after probationary period

Rose Tree Media School District seeks a caring and dependable Health Room Nurse to support the health, safety, and well-being of students throughout the school day. Working under the direction of the Certified School Nurse, the Health Room Nurse provides direct nursing care, responds to student illness, injury, and other health needs, administers medications and treatments as authorized, maintains appropriate health documentation, and assists with other school health services.

The ideal candidate demonstrates sound nursing judgment, communicates effectively with students, families, and staff, and remains calm and responsive when addressing both routine health needs and unexpected situations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current and valid Pennsylvania Practical Nurse (LPN) license required. Registered Nurse (RN) licensure preferred.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications required.
• Valid driver's license issued by the candidate's state of residence required.
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate and appropriate nursing care to school-aged children.
• Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to routine and emergency student health needs.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and accurate health documentation.
Ability to work collaboratively with Certified School Nurses, administrators, teachers, support staff, families, and other members of the school community.
