What you'll be doing

The Asphalt & Concrete Laborer will join our operations team and support our concrete, asphalt, and sealcoating teams. This role involves performing physical labor on commercial and industrial concrete projects, including finishing and smoothing freshly poured concrete to meet the highest standards. You will also assist with preparing job sites for concrete placement, setting forms, and ensuring safe working conditions on-site. The Concrete Finisher will operate various tools and equipment to ensure the successful completion of each project.

You will be responsible for...

• Performing concrete finishing tasks on various commercial projects, including leveling, smoothing, and texturing concrete surfaces.
• Setting and securing forms to hold concrete in place.
• Assisting in the preparation of job sites for concrete pouring, including clearing debris and ensuring proper site conditions.
• Operating hand tools and equipment to achieve a precise finish on concrete surfaces.
• Supporting the coordination and movement of materials and tools to ensure the job progresses smoothly.
• Assisting with general construction labor, including job site clean-up and organizing materials.
• Ensuring that concrete is properly placed to meet project specifications and safety standards.
• Participating in the transport of materials, equipment, and supplies as necessary.
• Maintaining and organizing tools and equipment to ensure they are in working condition.
• Reporting any safety issues, accidents, or incidents to the Foreman, Superintendent, or Human Resources Manager.
• Performing additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Foreman or Superintendent.

What skills & experience you'll bring to us

• High school diploma or equivalent required; at least 3 years of concrete finishing experience.
• Valid driver's license required (Class A CDL is a plus).
• Strong understanding of concrete finishing techniques for flat and structural surfaces.
• Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and perform well under pressure in outdoor conditions.
• Detail-oriented with experience using hand tools and specialized equipment for concrete finishing.
• Physically capable of performing labor-intensive tasks (lifting up to 60 lbs., bending, digging, climbing) and working in various weather conditions. 
• Capable of working both independently and as part of a team, with effective communication across all levels.
• Experience with safety procedures and practices in construction environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a dedication to quality work.
