Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience
- Experience: 10 years of professional software engineering experience, with a minimum of 5 years specializing in enterprise-level Python development.
- AI Tool Proficiency: Demonstrable, hands-on experience using LLMs (ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor) to write, debug, and refactor code. Deep understanding of prompt engineering techniques for software architecture.
- Architecture & Design: Strong grasp of microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and asynchronous programming in Python (e.g., asyncio, FastAPI, or advanced Django/Flask).
- Database & Infrastructure: Solid experience with relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL) and modern containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Leadership: Proven ability to operate at a VP/Senior Staff level, guiding architectural decisions and mentoring development teams without requiring direct HR authority.
- Communication: Excellent ability to explain both code and AI-tooling strategies to non-technical stakeholders and management.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience
- Experience integrating custom LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) directly into enterprise applications (RAG architectures, LangChain).
- Previous experience in the Financial Services or Banking sector.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and automated testing frameworks (PyTest)
- Advanced Python Engineering: Architect, develop, and maintain highly scalable, robust Python-based backend services, APIs, and data processing pipelines.
- AI-Driven Development: Leverage GenAI tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) for advanced prompt engineering to accelerate code generation, automate unit testing, and optimize existing codebases.
- Code Review & Security: Rigorously review and validate AI-generated code to ensure it meets enterprise-grade security, performance, and maintainability standards. (Zero-trust approach to AI outputs).
- Technical Leadership: Serve as an evangelist for AI-assisted development within the team. Create documentation, guidelines, and frameworks for how developers can safely utilize LLMs in a heavily regulated financial environment.
- System Integration: Seamlessly integrate Python applications with enterprise databases, cloud infrastructure, and internal platforms.
- Risk & Compliance: Ensure that no proprietary or sensitive banking data is exposed to public AI models, strictly adhering to internal GenAI usage policies and data governance rules.
